Donna and James love story is one of those that when you hear it, all you can think is that it was meant to be.  Donna lived in a different state.  One day, she just had this strong feeling that she was being called to go and work for Benjamin’s Hope in Holland, MI.  Benjamin’s Hope is a community founded by James’s mother because of his brother Ben.  It’s a place about creating space where people of differing abilities can live, learn, play and worship.  Donna got the job and moved to Michigan without knowing anyone here.  Donna ended up working with Ben and in the process started to get really close to James.  Going out trips for Ben ended up also becoming casual dates for Donna and James.  The rest was history from there.

Donna and James ended up having their wedding at Camp Geneva in Holland, MI.  It is a beautiful christian based summer camp right on Lake Michigan.  It was a great place for them to say “I do”.  The party continued over at Macatawa Legends golf club.  The candy bar and mini cakes at each table were a big hit.  One of my favorite parts about the night, was how if the guests wanted the newlyweds to kiss, just clinking the glasses would not do.  The whole table had to get up and sing a love song instead.  This did not diture anyone though.  Almost every single table gladly got up and sang, some even more then once.  It was a great time for everyone!

My other favorite part of the night had to be the sunset photos.  Me being a photographer, I am always a fan of golden hour, these by far though have to be my favorite.  Donna and James just look amazing and super adorable in every photo. An added bonus was being able to have a little joy ride on the golf carts when driving to and from their famous bridge.  The rest of the night was just full of dancing and fun.  Donna and James big day ended with their friends and family giving them a beautiful sparkler send off.  Such a fun way to end a perfect day.

Congratulations Donna and James.  I have had such a great time getting to know you two and photographing your beautiful story.  I hope you two have an amazing marriage and life together.
