A year in photos: Best of 2023

What a year. 2023 ended up being just as unique as every year and full of so many firsts. This was definitely the year of winter weddings. I had three in December alone. It was also one of my wettest years. I swear it rained or threatened to rain almost every session or wedding.

Here are some of the highlights from this year. One of my favorite but most stressful was when I photographed a surprise engagement. It involved preplanning and a bit of acting but everything ended up so cute in the end. I also did my first New Years Eve reception. There was so much sparkles, lights an and balloons during this party. The balloon drop at midnight was so much fun.

I also had tons of first experiences this year that I have yet to have in all my years photographing. It was the fist time there was a live band for the ceremony. This same couple also did “dancing on clouds” for the first dance. This is where a dry ice machine creates low lying fog on the dance floor. It was really cool. One couple bought scooters for all their wedding party members to ride around for photos. Another had a horse drawn carriage. I also finally got an engagement couple willing to go all the way into the water for some photos at sunset. Just perfection. I really want to do a full session like that at some point.

This post is to highlight some of my favorite photos from the year. I tired to included something from every session I did. I am just so grateful to all my clients and everyone that trusted me to capture their moments. Thank you everyone for an amazing 2023 and let’s hope for more even greater years to come!!
