Ashley and Chris met while Chris was in the navy and stationed with Ashleigh’s cousin in Jacksonville. They stayed friends for several years before they finally started dating over two years ago. Chris proposed in May, while they were on a trip in Washington DC. He popped the question at the Lincoln Memorial, right front of the Reflecting Pond.
They decided to have their wedding, not in their home state of Louisiana, but up here in Michigan instead. The family has owned a home in Holland for over 100 years, that sits right on Lake Michigan. It was the perfect place to say their “I do’s”. They arrived to their reception at Boatwerks in style, on a family friend’s boat. They kept this secret to their guests, so they could really make an entrance. The outdoor patio at Boatwerks, was were all the fun was at that night. There was an outdoor bar, several games to play and of course the dance floor. Ashleigh and Chris had their first dance at twilight out under the twinkling string lights on the patio. It was gorgeous.
Congratulations you two! I hope you have an amazing life together and I wish you all the joy and happiness in this new adventure. Cheers!
