Courtney and Sam’s wedding at Leona Road in Grand Rapids was everything you’d want in a summer celebration. It was stylish, joyful, heartfelt, and so full of love. From their emotional first looks to dancing the night away, their day was an absolute dream to photograph.

These two first met through online dating. But after falling for each other, Sam popped the question in one of the most iconic holiday spots—under the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree in New York City. So naturally, their wedding had to be just as memorable… and it totally was.

Leona Road is a beautifully renovated school building turned wedding venue, and it was the perfect backdrop for Courtney and Sam’s modern celebration. The ceremony and reception both took place indoors in the venue’s spacious halls. Their wedding design was a clean and elegant mix of mid-century modern elements with a romantic twist. Think muted teal and coral pink tones, flickering candles, lush floral centerpieces, and wooden signs with personalized touches throughout.

One of the most touching parts of the day was Courtney’s first look with her dad. They both ended up in tears (and I might have teared up too behind the lens!). Not long after, Courtney and Sam shared their own first look in the ceremony space, and the excitement on their faces said it all. You could feel just how much they love each other—so genuine and sweet.

Courtney and Sam’s wedding was the perfect blend of personal, elegant, and fun. They made the day their own in every way—and I feel so lucky I got to capture it for them. Leona Road was an incredible venue to work with, and their modern style fit it beautifully.
