I was so happy when Sam and Dustan reached out to me to photograph their wedding. Not only is it exciting to capture such an important day, but it’s also a true honor when a couple trusts me with their wedding photos. For Samantha and Dustan, their engagement was a journey filled with thoughtful planning, surprises, and love. Since Samantha isn’t a fan of surprises, Dustan had to get creative. After his first plan accidentally slipped, he called in reinforcements. Samantha’s best friend Madison, her mom, and her brother all helped bring the proposal together.

Under the glow of Christmas lights at the Rockford Dam, Dustan got down on one knee. He presented Samantha with a ring and a bouquet of illuminated flowers. The flowers symbolized their love for Christmas, their favorite holiday. This magical winter proposal was the perfect mix of romance and sentiment. It set the stage for their future together.
